[08/14/05 - Episode 16] The remaining 8 had another clinic this week, hosted by Dave. The rockers were split up into two teams and given the instrumental track of a new INXS song. Their task was to work together to write all the lyrics and melodies and the winners would recieve a new sound system as well as a night on the town with INXS. The two teams were: 1 - Ty, Suzie, Mig & Deanna; their song was titled "Stop Go" 2 - Marty, JD, Jessica, & Jordis Ty's team worked very well with each other and finished in a timely manner. Marty's team, however, had difficulties as JD didn't like the direction it was going in, and Jordis didn't like his idea, so he ended up dropping out. Both teams had to present their songs infront of Dave and Andrew (keyboards/guitar for INXS). Dave noticed that JD didn't participate and he ultimately performed his song individually. Dave thought he had the best lyrics of the three songs and that he has qualities of being a great frontman, but that's not good enough in a band situation. Due to his lack of participation, JD cost his team so Ty's team won the challenge. The songs this week were pre-picked for the contestants as well as an explination from the band as to what they're looking for from each person with their performance. Marty was on the receiving end of a Britney Spears song, and said when going in rehearsal that he's had the least amount of confidence this week. [08/16/05 - Episode 17] The show opened up with a recap of the previous show, and also Dave talking with JD about his actions from the clinic. JD expanded sharing he wanted to show himself to INXS, and that he couldn't do that with a "shitty" song, which obviously struck a nerve with all the other contestants, not just those in his group. Tonights performance was toned down to include a strings section, as well as a piano, which Mig used to his advantage by playing it during his performance. Mig was asked to perform this weeks encore, and gladly did so but asked Jordis and Marty to join him. There was one change to the initial bottom three shown at the end of last nights show: Suzie - "By My Side" Jessica - "Mistified" Deanna - "Never Tear Us Apart" INXS didn't give any explinations other than at this point they really just need to think about whats best for the band as opposed to who had the better performance, so they eliminated Jessica this week.
