[07/11/05 - Episode 01]
Fifteen contestants arrive at the Rockstar Mansion. Dave was introduced to them as they entered the house, as he was jamming with INXS. The contestants had to perform just an hour after arriving at the mansion at Los Angeles' Mayan Theater. Below are the contestants, in the order they performed, and which song they chose to perform.

Tara - The Pretenders, "Middle Of The Road"
Neal - The Rolling Stones, "Brown Sugar"
Daphna - Blondie, "One Way Or Another"
Ty - Living Colour, "Cult of Personality"
Dana - Bob Dylan, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door"
Deanna - Janis Joplin, "Piece of My Heart"
Mig - Nirvana, "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
Jessica - Hole, "Celebrity Skin"
Wil - David Bowie, "Heroes"
Heather - Talking Heads, "Bring Down The House"
Brandon - Kiss, "Rock and Roll All Night"
JD - The Guess Who, "American Woman"
Suzie - Black Crowes, "Remedy"
There were three contestants at risk of getting kicked off: JD for his manic performance, Suzie for messing up her lyrics, and Dana for her voice. Dana was the first one voted off because the band didn't feel she would be able to improve her voice in the three month period they have to choose a new singer. The remaining contestants then had to prepare for their next performance the following night.

Fourteen songs were pre-picked for the contestants to perform, so they had to decide between themselves who would sing what song.

This was the first time that the audience and viewers at home could cast a vote for their favorite performer online here or Verizon Wireless subscribers could text their vote.
[07/13/05 - Episode 03]
When the show started, INXS asked JD to come to the stage. They asked him why he thought he was up there, which he thought he was one of the three with the fewest votes, but they really just wanted an encore of his performance of "California Dreaming."
The three contestants with the fewest number of votes after last nights voting had to perform in front of the band, this time performing an INXS song, to try and stay in the competition. The bottom three were Tara, Wil, and Suzie.
Tara - "New Sensation"
Wil - "Need You Tonight"
Suzie - "Never Tear Us Apart"
After the band came to a decision, they immediately asked Suzie to join the other contestants because she nailed her performance, they didn't think Tara had enough of a performance though picking it up a bit, but ultimately Wil was let go because he failed to improve his performace after being told twice.
