Dave was broadcasting live from the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT for Indie. He opened the show with TK, who was in the Indie studio, and shared how he did at a poker tournament there last night.
The first guest was Patrick Fugit, an actor in "Wristcutters: A Love Story." Right off the bat, the first thing Dave asked him was his take on all the "swag" that's given away at these events. His response was negative because it seems the festival to most is not about the movies, but the free swag. When they started talking about the movie, he said the synopsis of it is what happens to people who commit suicide and how they're put in a place where they wish they could commit suicide, but fear doing it again to see where they'll go next.
Next, he had actor/director Kevin Smith on to discuss his film "Small Town Gay Bar," which is about gay bars in small towns of Mississippi and creating your own family. Their conversation turned to being clean from drugs, and how Red Bull was Jason Mewes' ("Jay" of "Jay & Silent Bob") new addiction, while Dave mentioned porn was his addiction following heroin. He was also at the poker tournament, and they talked about Shannon Elizabeth and how "terrifying" she is at poker.
Finally, Dave was joined by Giancarlo Esposito, who was there for the film "Sherrybaby." He also took this time to talk about his latest movie, "Last Holiday."
