[Guest(s)]: Rob Schrab, Joe Casey, Mark Sable, Leela Lee
Dave was filling in for Steve Jones since he had a previous engagement. The guests that joined him were dubbed "Comic Book Masters" since they all were artists, writers, or both, of comics.
For those not familiar with the show, the "jury" listens to a track and decides if it's mustard (good) or pants (bad). Their selections and decisions are as follows:
Track 1: Girl In A Coma, "Say" - majority ruling: mustard
Track 2: The Hours - majority ruling: pants
Track 3: Rehab, "Bartender Song" - majority ruling: pants
Track 4: Big Linda, "Golden Girl" - majority ruling: mustard
Track 5: Islands, "Creeper" - majority ruling: pants
In the second hour, Dave asked the guests about whether having a comic become a movie is the kiss of death or the holy grail. They agreed that Iron Man was a great movie adaptaion, but Tank Girl and Howard The Duck were bad. They also discussed the new Incredible Hulk movie, and The Dark Knight.
[Quotes]:
"As I told you before the show got started, I was an avid collector and I was really excited to meet you because of the Dark Knight Batman comics were a huge part of my life as I was growing up and I had them dated back to the teens as I told you. Massive, massive collection, hundreds of thousands of dollars on these things and ended up selling them to shoot heroin and cocaine in my arms." [Dave]
"Anything that's great, the men like, and anything that sucks, Leela likes." [Dave]
