Live: Camp Freddy-NotForNothing.net

[11/18/06]

[In Studio]: Dave, Billy

[Absentees]: Matt & Donovan were out for unknown reasons.

They debuted the special Camp Freddy "holiday song," which was a cover of Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody." It was done by the 6 core members of CF, no guests. They played it twice, because they could.

Dave took some time to rant about the lids on coffee cups. He was wondering how, when it's in his car cup holder, a lot of it spills out of the tiny "sippy" hole.

After coming back from an eight minute commercial break, Dave was pissed because it was such a long break, and criticized all the ads they had to play, and saying a lot weren't creative.

In the last few minutes, Dave took the time to do his promo for the "Wreck The Halls" show that Camp Freddy will be a part of so that he could save himself a few minutes, then when he was done he said he could do it better and did a couple additional takes.

[Quotes]:

"It should be 'Rocking The Halls, and Wrecking The Walls.'" [Dave, about the upcoming Indie show w/Camp Freddy]
"See, why isn't Navarro writing the copy?" [Billy]
"Marketing! Marketing genius!" [Dave]

"I thought I'd go get together with my family and find out what other ways I've disappointed them over the past 30 years. 'You know, you really should..' 'Why don't you ever..'" [Dave, sharing his Thanksgiving plans]

"Are our listeners actually listening to more commercials than they are actual ground-breaking music?" [Dave, to Darren]
"No, definately not." [Darren]
"I'm not talking about Weezer and all that stuff, I'm talking about ground-breaking music. What are we giving them? What're we giving them dude?" [Dave]
"I don't know, I'm not the program director dude, and I'm not the marketing director." [Darren]
"I know, I know." [Dave]
"You're looking at me, asking these questions." [Darren]
"Dave's gone all West Side, he's gone all West Siders, uh-huh, well, uh-huh." [Billy]

"Remember the guy who was whining about commercials for about 25 minutes?" [Dave]
"You've actually got to make one now." [Billy]
"I've got to do one now." [Dave]

"Join me, Dave Navarro, at Wreck the Halls with Camp Freddy and Lilly Alan, Thursday December 7th at the Avalon. Tickets on sale now at Indie1031.com" [Dave]
"What, are you making sure they've got it or what?" [Billy]
"It's all I can say now. I need more coffee dude." [Dave, Billy laughs]
